UNE meeting: Needs for standardisation in Cybersecurity for Smart Mobility

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has held the Meeting on Needs for standardisation in Cybersecurity for Smart Mobility, in which leading experts highlighted the need for new technical standards in the field of the Connected and Automated Mobility sector to address the inherent cybersecurity and privacy risks associated with technological advances in this field.

At the event, the Report Standardisation in Cybersecurity for Connected and Automated Mobility of vehicles and their environment was presented, published by the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, in collaboration with the organisations participating in the technical standardisation group CTN 320/GT CAV "Cybersecurity in the Vehicle Environment".

The report aims to establish a solid foundation to create standards that ensure the interoperability, safety and privacy of connected and autonomous vehicles and intelligent transport systems in anticipation of their development and mainstreaming.

This report examines the most relevant technical standardisation bodies, standards and initiatives related to Cybersecurity and Privacy in the field of Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) and, in the particular case of Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs), Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and the related communication and connectivity technologies. The contribution of standardisation to these areas adds significant support to the cybersecurity in smart mobility, which is useful both for public and private entities.
