Education on standardisation is becoming increasingly important at European and global level. The current European standardisation strategy dedicates one of its five main areas to training and is promoting actions such as hosting academic conferences on standardisation, the development of training material and the involvement of teachers.

More than 40 countries gathered in Maceió (Brazil) for the General Assembly of the Pan American Standards Commission (COPANT), which took place from 28 April to 1 May.
