UNE and ANFAC address the standardisation of electrified vehicles

12/04/2024

The webinar titled "Standardisation in electrified vehicle and the importance of regulation", organised by the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, and the Spanish Association of Automobile and Lorry Manufacturers (ANFAC), was held on Thursday, 11 April.

The recent approval of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 concerning batteries and waste batteries brings with it new mandatory requirements relating to sustainability, security, labelling, marking and information, to allow the introduction of batteries on the market or the commissioning of batteries, as well as minimum requirements with regard to the producer's expanded responsibility, collection and treatment of battery or battery waste and communication of information.

The presentations presented standardisation as a lever to help the entire automotive battery value chain to find solutions to meet some of these requirements. They also highlighted the existence of international standards under development that are expected to be referenced in European regulation.

This webinar included: Paloma García (UNE); Arancha García (ANFAC and CTN-UNE 26); Javier López (UNE); Antonio Merino (SEAT and CTN-UNE 26/SC 10); Asier Martínez (Tecnalia); Sergio Crespo (ANESDOR and CTN-UNE 26/SC 5); Enrique Zapico (Cesvimap); Rafael Amat (Ecoquímica Logística Integral); and Agustín Idareta (BeePlanet Factory).
