The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, participated on Wednesday 15 January in the 7th National Industry Congress, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism at the Barcelona International Convention Centre. This new edition addressed the role of Spanish industry and SMEs in achieving greater strategic autonomy, in line with the current challenges of the EU.

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, is firmly committed to innovation, as reflected in its various activities to manage this area. To advertise them, UNE has produced some videos.

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, hosted a study visit on 9 and 10 December by Mshari Al-Salah, Director of Service Standardization at SASO (Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization), the standardization body of Saudi Arabia.<br>

The European General Product Safety Regulation, the new UNE Prospective Studies, and the international leadership of Spanish standardization in the steel industry are among the topics discussed.

The INKplant R&D project was the winner of the 2024 CEN and CENELEC Standards+Innovation Award for the European research project that contributed the most to standardization. This is the fourth recognition given, in six editions, to a project involving the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE.

The Director of Cooperation and International Relations at the Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE), Mónica Sanzo, participated on 4 December in the International Seminar "Circular Economy and Quality Standards in the Manufacturing Sector", an event organized by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) in Peru, in collaboration with the National Institute of Quality (INACAL) and the Ministry of Production.

The general director of the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, and vice-president of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Javier García, took part in the international seminar "Advances in Sustainability", organized by the National Standards Institute (INN) in Santiago de Chile on 4 December. There, he presented the European outlook on sustainability information.

The International Standards Organisation (ISO) has published the new text of the Standard ISO 56001:2024 Innovation Management System. Requirements, marking a milestone in innovation worldwide.​
