On Friday 28 March, the Director General of the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, and Vice-President of ISO, Javier García, took part in the 2nd Industrialised Construction Congress hosted by InMat by CIARE and Cuatrecasas in Madrid. Likewise, Luis Rodulfo, Chair of CEPCO and Vice-President of UNE, was involved in the closing of the event.
Javier García took part in the session “Standardisation, Valuation, Financing (banking and alternative), Financial Legislation and Insurance", in which he said that the sector is calling for regulations that support this new construction model through standards based on the consensus that they provide a common language and trust between stakeholders. He announced that UNE will set up a national standardisation body on industrialised construction to deliver an effective response to this challenge.
UNE standards help organisations to successfully address their major challenges and provide strong support for public policy deployment and regulatory implementation.
The two-day Congress brought together businesses, policymakers, industry professionals, architects, engineers and builders to unpack the future of the industrialised construction industry. Over 140 speakers shared knowledge, experiences and solutions that will help shape the way towards a more efficient, sustainable and innovative industry at the fourteen panel discussions and in the five success stories presented.
