UNE Seminar: Digital Product Passport. The path to sustainability and standards

The Spanish Association for Standardization held, on Tuesday, 11 March, the UNE Seminar “Digital passport for products" . "The Path to Sustainability and Standards", at the School of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

UNE organized this event coinciding with the presence in the capital of the European experts of the CEN/CLC/JTC 24 Digital Product Passport - Framework and System and CTN-UNE 333 Digital passport for products. Framework and system, which are developing, at the request of the European Commission, the standards for implementing the digital product passport included in Regulation (EU) 2024/1781, establishing a framework for the establishment of ecological design requirements applicable to sustainable products and other European regulations.

The digital product passport is an information system that is used to record, process and share information electronically related to the sustainability of products between supply chain companies, authorities and consumers. Standards will boost their deployment, facilitating the digitisation and ecological transition of European industry.
