UNE and IBSTT present the first Spanish standard for calculating CIPP lining and the associated calculation programme

​​The Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, in collaboration with the Iberian Society for Trenchless Technology (IBSTT), recently held the UNE-IBSTT Meeting: First Spanish standard for calculating CIPP lining and the associated calculation programme. At the event, the new UNE 53929 Standard "Plastics. Rehabilitation of supply and sewerage pipes with continuous cured tubes in situ (CIPP). Design, calculation and installation" was presented, which lays out a common language in Spain for the use of this technology. It also implements a unified calculation method that until now did not exist, and lays out criteria for the design, installation and testing of cured in-place pipes (CIPP) that complement the applicable UNE standards in this field. It also provides security in the use of this technology for manufacturers, installers, planners and water management utilities.
