Smart carbon footprint diagnosis and climate change mitigation system for the wine sector.
VID-EXPERT aims to facilitate the interoperability and diagnosis of the carbon footprint in a smart way between farmers and wineries and thus help mitigate climate change in the wine sector.
OTHER OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
1 - Calculate the carbon footprint in both the vineyard and the winery
2 - Provide the wine sector with a smart digital tool for analysing the status and recommending actions that facilitate decision-making related to mitigating the effects of climate change on the sector.
3 - Analyse the characteristics and status of the current carbon footprint certification in the wine sector (WfCP) and make technological proposals that can increase the value of the certification and promote more widespread use. The creation of this innovative digital tool, VID-EXPERT, will not only quantify emissions, but it will offer appropriate mitigation measures. VID-EXPERT is part of the sustainable development goals (SDG), directly and indirectly fulfilling goals 17, 15, 13, 12, 9, 8 and 5.
