UNE participates in a new European R&D&I project

22/04/2020

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, is participating in a new European R&D project as part of Horizon 2020. This is the InComEss project, whose initial meeting was held electronically due to the special circumstances due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

InComEss seeks to develop innovative polymer-based composite systems for the capture and storage of high-efficiency energy.

The project will demonstrate its applicability in key sectors and applications such as structural health monitoring and vehicle control in the automotive, aerospace and construction sectors, presenting the greatest market potential.

UNE participates as a standardisation partner in this project, together with 17 other organisations representing a total of 10 EU countries. In addition, Spanish companies AIMEN and CIRCE are participating.

All the members participated actively during the two-day meeting, taking the opportunity to meet virtually to discuss the project's implementation.

During the first day, experts from the entities presented their tasks followed by an analysis and a description of the work packages by the respective leaders. The main tasks of each work package were highlighted and this led to an effective discussion on the challenges and difficulties that each partner will face.

The second day was dedicated to a more detailed work plan for the actions set for the next six months and the organisation of subgroups focused on individual technical aspects of InComEss.

This project receives funds from the EU's Horizon 2020 Research Programme under Agreement Number 862597.
