UNE takes part in the 7th National Congress on Aggregates to promote competitiveness and sustainability in the industry

​​The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, participated in the 7th National Aggregates Congress, organized by its member, the Federation of Aggregates (FdA), a key forum for the extractive industry that brought together representatives from across the value chain.

UNE’s President, Alfredo Berges, and Vice President, Luis Rodulfo, were part of the Honorary Committee and attended the Congress’s opening ceremony. Luis Rodulfo also took part in the plenary session on the outlook for construction in Spain.

Meanwhile, the Director General, Javier García Díaz, contributed to the roundtable on the competitiveness challenges facing Spanish industry, alongside representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Tourism, CEOE, OFICEMEN, and other sector organizations.

In addition, Aitor Aragón Basabe, Sustainable Construction and BIM Manager; Raquel Martínez Egido, Head of Construction; and Francisco Luis Arribas Martín, Head of Industry and Equipment, actively participated in the Congress sessions. UNE representatives highlighted the importance of standardization as a tool to advance sustainability, digitization, and innovation within the construction sector.

Key topics addressed during the event included the implementation of the new Construction Products Regulation and the rollout of the digital product passport, essential initiatives for promoting a more efficient market aligned with European sustainability goals.

Through its participation in this forum, UNE reinforces its commitment to Spain’s strategic economic sectors, driving innovation, safety, and sustainable development through standards.
