Paloma García, Director of Standardization Programs and Stakeholder Groups at the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, participated in the 39th Digital Economy and Telecommunications Meeting in Santander, organized by AMETIC.
The meeting, which brought together more than 120 leaders from the public, private and academic sectors, provided a forum to discuss the challenges and opportunities of the digital transformation under the motto “Digitization, Competitiveness and Social Impact. The great equation".
Paloma García discussed, from a global perspective, the role of UNE and CEN and ISO standards in the deployment of AI and how standards support legislation, without going into technical details. During her presentation, she explained that "technical standards will play a decisive role in the transformation that AI will bring about in our personal and professional lives, supporting the deployment of products and services that comply with the requirements set by the RIA".
She also gave the UNE-ISO/IEC 42001 standard as an example, which proposes a total of 38 controls that cover all areas of the organization.
