UNE underlines the value of standardisation at INGEFUTUR25 in the face of challenges within the ecological and digital transition

15/12/2025

The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) took part in the 1st National Industrial Engineering Conference – INGEFUTUR25, held on 12th December, a meeting point to analyse the challenges and opportunities in the industrial sector in the context of economic, technological and environmental transformation.

Within the framework of the congress, Alfredo Berges, President of the UNE, participated in the round table 'Challenges in the industrial sector', focused on the major vectors of change that are shaping the industrial agenda, such as the ecological transition and the digital transformation. During the session, key issues such as decarbonisation, the circular economy, the energy transition, the adoption of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity management were addressed, all of which are essential elements to strengthen the competitiveness of the industry.

The UNE highlighted the strategic role of management standards and regulations as tools to support companies in facing these challenges effectively, systematically, and in alignment with regulatory and market frameworks. In this regard, initiatives such as the future UNE-ISO 53001 standard, the UNE-ISO 42001 standard on artificial intelligence management systems, and the report prepared by the UNE on the support of standards for ESG reporting were highlighted.

The UNE's participation in INGEFUTUR25 reinforces its commitment to promoting a more sustainable, digital and competitive industry, fostering standardisation as a key instrument to support organisations in their transformation processes and adaptation to new economic, technological and environmental challenges.
