UNE presents the 2023 Standardisation Awards

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has presented its UNE Standardisation Awards 2023. These awards recognise the commitment and professionalism of the Standardisation Committees and the people who make them up. The presentation of the awards was held during Spanish Association for Standardization's General Assembly.

Through these awards, the Spanish standards body highlights the work of more than 6,000 organisations and more than 13,000 experts, who actively participate in developing technical standards within one of UNE's 200 Technical Standardisation Committees. The Committees aim to promote resilience, sustainability and security among Spanish business and to contribute to social progress.

These UNE Awards seek to recognise the efforts of all professionals and committees that, through their work, develop standards with the aim of dealing with the major challenges facing society today, such as those related to digital transformation or the green transition, in line with the organisation's 2025 Strategy. Similarly, the awards aim to help spead the multisectoral, collaborative approach embodied by UNE, as well as boost the partnership model as an effective guarantee in responding to the needs of Spanish companies. This year's winners were:

  • The López Agüí award to the most prominent UNE-TSC: CTN UNE 51 SC 3 Petroleum products. Fuels, for which the Spanish Association of Petrolium Product Operators (AOP) acts as secretary.The award was presented to the committee's secretary, Lara Sanz, in recognition of the positive impact of the CTN-UNE's activities on organisations in the sector, as well as its dynamic capacity and professionalism in complying with the procedures established in the standardisation system.
  • UNE Award for the most outstanding UNE-TSC or UNE-SC: Jorge Fernando Fabero Correas, from the CTN UNE 220 Photovoltaic solar energy, for his important work in dynamizing and promoting this technical standardisation body.
  • UNE Award for the most outstanding TSC spokesperson: Raúl Sánchez Reílillo, from the Carlos III University, for his work at the CTN UNE 71 SC 17-37 Digital identification, and his commitment to representation in European and international standardisation bodies.​​
