Standard UNE-EN ISO 14024 Environmental Labels and Declarations. Type I Environmental labelling. Principles and procedures sets out the guidelines for undertaking Type I environmental labelling programmes, i.e. labels that are awarded to products that meet a series of specific requirements, identifying those with environmentally-preferable characteristics (for example, the EU Ecolabel).
This new standard replaces the previous 2001 version and incorporates new provisions, such as the consideration of data quality and the responsibility of testers, among the principles of the programmes, and the inclusion of a verification section in the description of the procedures for assessing and demonstrating compliance with the aforementioned programme.
