The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, joined the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Madrid (COIIM) at the official launch of the Industria Foundation, an initiative aimed at strengthening the role of industrial engineering as a driver of economic and social progress.
The event, held at the Auditorium of the Advanced Technical School of Industrial Engineers at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, was attended by the President of UNE, Alfredo Berges, the Director General of UNE, Javier García, and the Deputy Director General of UNE, Julián Caballero.
It was chaired by Fabián Torres Suárez, President of the Industria Foundation and Dean of COIIM. The Foundation has been established as an independent and collaborative entity with a public service vocation, focused on connecting companies, public administrations, and the technical community, generating knowledge, attracting talent, and raising awareness of the challenges and opportunities in the industrial sector.
The launch also featured contributions from Jordi García Brustenga, Secretary of State for Industry, Jaime Martínez Muñoz, Director General for Economy and Industry of the Community of Madrid, and Cristina de Sequera, Director General of the Industria Foundation and Deputy Director of the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Madrid, highlighting the strategic importance of industry for the country’s economic and social development.
