02/10/2018

UNE acaba de publicar la UNE 36901:2018 Sistemas de gestión de la sostenibilidad siderúrgica. Requirements, the objective of which is to facilitate to manufacturers of steel products the implementation of sustainable practices in their production processes. This is a guideline document to develop and implement a policy and objectives that take into account relevant legal requirements and other possible requisites, as well as furthering information regarding the organization's economic, social and environmental performance. In this way, organisations implementing sustainable actions can have a common framework of reference.

The iron and steel sustainability management system defined in the UNE 36901:2018 Standard is based on the continuous improvement cycle (plan-do-chech-act, PDCA) and has been designed to be compatible with other management systems available to organisations. The evaluation of organizational performance is based on a company's rating system defined in the standard.

This new version of the norm has been tailored to match the high-standard format of the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Standards published in 2015.
