ISO 22000:2018. Food safety management systems

Food Safety Management Systems standard ISO 22000:2018 is now available. This standard establishes the guidelines that an organisation involved in the foodstuffs chain must implement to demonstrate its ability to control the risks associated with its activity and ensure that food is safe. It can be used by any company, regardless of its size or position in the sector. A series of improvements are established with respect to the first edition from 2005. These include facilitating the integration of the standard into other ISO quality management standards, including those associated with the organisation of the company into risk management, simplifying a series of requirements established in the previous version, and attaching two cycles of ongoing improvement (PDCA) that will allow a joint self-assessment of the company's system and HACCP.
