UNE Magazine, latest issue now available

​The latest issue of the UNE magazine is now available: 

• UNE member: united to combat coronavirus. Learn about some of the actions carried out by UNE members, with the support of Public Administrations, to overcome the crisis caused by this pandemic.

• Market surveillance, a powerful lever in the recovery of the crisis. To promote public-private collaboration, UNE members have set up the Market Surveillance Observatory. Strict compliance with standards provides credibility in the markets, increases investment in R&D and generates talent.

• Technical standards, a useful tool for public procurement. Law 9/2017 on Public Sector Contracts, establishes the use of technical standards to establish technical requirements in tenders. They provide objectivity, transparency and openness.

• In the words of the partners: "Standards allow products to be manufactured to meet the highest quality and safety requirements". Interview with Oscar del Rio, Chairman of the Spanish Association of Mineral Wool Insulation Manufacturers (AFELMA).

• Standardisation in action: CTN 323 Circular Economy. More than 160 experts from nearly 90 public and private organisations participate in this committee. It is responsible for channelling the Spanish position in the drafting of international and European standards in this field.

• SDG 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions. More than 200 standards help to achieve SDG 15. UNE also contributes to achieving this by participating in projects such as CARBOCERT.

• Support for standardisation to the new European fertilisers regulation. The European Commission has requested the European Committee for Standardization (CEN) to develop 200 technical standards that will be a solid support for the new European fertilisers regulation. Spain is actively involved in its drafting.
