UNE magazine's October issue is now available


​The October edition of the UNE magazine is now available:

  • Boosting the circular economy: standardisation is supporting this new model, establishing a common understanding of principles, strategies and practices in this field. UNE has created CTN 323 with the aim of channelling the Spanish position in the drafting of global standards on circular economy. With video!
  • Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 8 Decent work and economic growth. More than 250 standards help to achieve SDG 8. In addition to ISO 45001, the international reference on occupational safety and health, there are standards that help to manage risk, ergonomics and safety of protective equipment and machines.
  • Two new key standards to continue advancing in the transformation and competitiveness of smart tourist destinations: UNE 178504, digital, smart and connected hotel (HDIC) and UNE 178503 on semantics applied to tourism.
  • What the members are saying: "We are the only country in the world with 45 specific standards for the tourism sector" Interview with Miguel Mirones, President of the Spanish Tourism Quality Institute (ICTE).
  • Standards in our lives: International Day Against Breast Cancer. 19 October is International Day Against Breast Cancer. Breast cancer is the most common tumour in western women. Many UNE standards contribute to the correct functioning of the devices used in diagnostic testing and subsequent treatment.
  • Standardisation in action: CTN 201 Low voltage switchgear and controlgear. Nearly 400 current standards at national, international and European level drive exports from the electrical equipment manufacturing sector.
