The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) has been recognised by the Prescribing Partner of the Spanish Network of the United Nations Global Compact, Sanda Ojiambo, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and CEO of the UN Global Compact, presented the award at a winners-only event, which was also attended by the leaders of the Spanish Global Compact Network: Clara Arpa (President), Víctor Viñuales (Vice President) and Cristina Sánchez (Executive Director). Through the initiative "Contigo somos +", the United Nations Global Compact granted this award to the partners that disseminate the benefits of the association among interest groups and thus converting them into prescribers.
The UNE is committed to the 10 Principles of the Global Compact in the areas of human rights, employment standards, environment and fight against corruption, and extends this commitment to its sphere of influence. This commitment stems from UNE's vision of social responsibility, which affects all the association's activities and is reflected in the 2025 Strategy. This strategy is consistent with the 2030 Agenda and considers UNE's contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), linking the strategic objectives with the SDGs and their targets.
