UNE has recently been included in the European Commission list of mandatory entities participating in the EU's international cooperation twinning projects following the modification of the requirements by the European Commission in its new manual.
"Twinning" is an EU instrument that promotes institutional cooperation between designated bodies from EU member countries and a partner country or beneficiary. The major beneficiaries of the EU's twinning projects are the EU pre-accession countries and those that are part of the European neighbourhood policy.
These "twinning" projects bring the experience and knowledge of the public sector from EU countries to the beneficiary countries with the aim of achieving compulsory operational results by exchanging experiences between peer organisations.
