Today saw the first meeting take place for the Preventomics R&D and Innovation project, an initiative that forms part of the European Horizon 2020 programme and is coordinated by EURECAT. The objective of Preventomics is “to empower consumers to prevent diet-related illnesses through a personalised nutrition plan based on nutrigenomic sciences”.
The project aims to offer personalised nutrition plans by combining various aspects related to phenotypics, metabolism, genetics, lifestyle, health and consumer preferences.
UNE's role is to gather contributions in order to produce new standards that facilitate the application of these concepts in the food and healthcare industries, as well as among consumers.
