Ibero-American Quality Awards

05/02/2020

The 20th edition of the Ibero-American Quality Awards took place on 4 February at the CEOE headquarters.

These Awards are part of a Project affiliated with the Ibero-American Summit of Heads of State and Government, coordinated by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB) and managed by FUNDIBEQ. The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, is a member of the Board of Trustees of Fundibeq.

This 20th edition included recognition for a Mexican company that has the world's largest PET plastic recycling plant, a Dominican public hospital and renewable energy generation and distribution companies in Brazil and Mexico.

In the two decades that the award has been running, it has been awarded to 201 organisations from 13 countries, 111 of which have been private companies (55%) and 90 of them public administrations and companies (45%).

Mexico is the country with the highest number of distinctions (58), followed by Colombia and Spain (each with 32). For this reason, the Mexican national award was especially recognised by SEGIB and FUNDIBEQ.

The event was inaugurated by the Vice President of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation of the Spanish Government, Nadia Calviño; the Ibero-American Secretary-General, Ms. Rebeca Grynspan; the President of CEOE, Antonio Garamendi; the President of FUNDIBEQ and CEO of AENOR, Rafael García Meiro,
