This modification to the UNE-EN ISO 15085:2003/A2:2018 standard supplements the UNE-EN 15085:2003 standard in chapter 16 by defining methods to re-embark on board in a much more comprehensive way. Both are intended to help comply with Recreational Craft Directive 2013/53/EC. This modification defines the obligations that must be fulfilled; at least one of the following is compulsory:
- Rigid boarding ladders
- Flexible boarding ladders
- Other specific devices, such as
- A boat design allowing re-embarkation from the water without using a specific device.
Likewise, the test methods to be used to verify that these re-embarking methods are reliable and safe are also defined.
