The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, is launching an open call for tender to hire experts who will be part of a team responsible for drafting a new European standard on the accessibility of electric vehicle charging stations.
UNE leads the secretariat of the Joint Technical Committee on Accessibility of the Built Environment of CEN and CENELEC (CEN/CLC/JTC 11), which is chaired by Jesús Hernández Galán, Director of Accessibility and Innovation at Fundación ONCE.
This open call for tender aims to select two experts for the project team. The first expert should have experience in the field of accessibility in the built environment and ergonomics. The second expert should have expertise in design for all and ICT accessibility. Both will collaborate in drafting a new European standard to ensure the accessibility of electric vehicle charging stations, contributing to the development of the ACCCHARGE Project. The project team will be led by CEI, the Italian standardization body in the electrical field, and will include up to two additional experts with experience in electric charging stations and electrical installations.
This project aims to support the implementation of Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR), specifically as outlined in Article 14, points 2 and 3, which address accessibility.
The work will include drafting an initial version of the standard, submitting it for enquiry vote, and subsequently preparing a revised draft based on the main comments received during the enquiry phase.
The application period for this open call for tender starts 30 April and ends on 4 June 2025.
Applications should be sent in English and in the format given in Annex B of the call for tender (mandatory) to fmachicado@une.org.
