Education is the basis to improving our life and sustainable development. Over 265 million children are currently out of school and 22% of them are of primary school age. That's why, the objective of SDG 4 Quality education is to guarantee inclusive, equitable and quality education.
The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has standards in line with these principles in its catalogue. One of them is the Standard UNE-ISO 21001 that specifies the requirements for a management system for educational organisations wishing to demonstrate their capacity to provide, share and transfer knowledge to students.
Its objective it is to define a framework, aligned with the Standard ISO 9001that specifies the minimum common requirements for organisations to provide products and services that meet the quality of all interested parties. In this regard, we must highlight the Standard UNE 172402 on service management in children's schools.
Similarly, international cooperation activities carried out by UNE contribute towards achieving two of the goals of this SDG, which focus on increasing the supply of qualified teachers, including through international cooperation for teacher training in developing countries; and to increase the number of young people and adults who have the necessary skills, particularly technical and professional skills, to access employment, decent jobs and entrepreneurship.
