New format for citing harmonised standards

The Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) has recently published the Commission's decision to adopt a new format for citing harmonised standards.

Up to now, they have used consolidated lists published as "Commission Communications", as part of the C series of the OJEU. These are now being converted into specific lists with annexes specifying only the new standards cited, the standards cited with a conformity presumption limit, and the standards that are no longer cited. This format will also be published as "Commission Implementing Decisions" in the OJEU L series.

It is important to remember that these new documents must be used in conjunction with earlier documents that include the aforementioned standards. The commission may continue to draw up lists of consolidated standards, but these will not be published as communications; they will instead be available for consultation on the Commission's sectorial websites
