What should you look for with the new labelling for electric vehicles? The UNE-EN 17186 standard

18/03/2021

From 20 March, a new harmonised set of labels will start to be used throughout the European Union for both electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids, as well as for charging stations. The aim is to help consumers identify the appropriate charging options for their vehicles.

The Standard UNE-EN 17186 Identification of vehicles and infrastructures compatibility.

Participation in the development of this standard has been done through CTN 26 "Road vehicles" whose presidency and secretariat manage ANFAC (Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers).

This is a new success story of how UNE standards effectively support the regulation and deployment of public policies. UNE is a successful model of public-private collaboration.
