Document creation and management is an integral part of the activities, processes and systems of an organization. Document management makes it possible to achieve efficiency, accountability, risk management and business continuity. It also allows organizations to capitalize on the value of their information resources, turning them into strategic assets and contributing to the preservation of the collective memory, in response to the challenges of the global and digital environment.
The new version of the
UNE-ISO 30301 Standard, published today by the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, specifies the requirements to be met by a document management system (DMS) in order to support an organization in achieving its aims, mission, strategy and goals. It deals with the development and implementation of a policy and objectives for document management and provides information on evaluating and monitoring the results.
This second edition of the standard conforms to the High-Level Structure for ISO standard management systems designed to facilitate their compatibility with other standards, such as the UNE-EN ISO 9001 and the UNE-EN-ISO/IEC 27001.
