On 24 April, the Ministry of Industry, in collaboration with UNE, and with the participation of industry representatives, is holding a seminar in Madrid to discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the Ecodesign Directive.
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the Ministry for Ecological Transition, together with the Spanish industry and other interested organisations, have spent months preparing the Spanish position for the adoption of the alignment regulations that a wide range of products have to comply with regarding Ecodesign and Energy Labelling. Specifically, the Regulations include: home refrigeration appliances, washing machines, dishwashers, lighting devices, electric motors, transformers, electronic monitors, refrigeration devices for direct sale, welding equipment, external power supply equipment and data storage equipment.
The UNE has the standard UNE-EN-ISO 14006 Environmental Management Systems. Guidelines for incorporating ecodesign, to help organizations establish, control and continuously improve their ecodesign management as part of the environmental management system. Many sectors involved in the design process (furniture, electrical, industrial) apply this standard.
