13/05/19

On 22 May the Spanish Metrology Centre, CEM, organised the meeting “Metrology as a tool for the resolution of the major societal challenges facing our society, review of the International System of Units as an opportunity.”

The event will be held within the framework of the CEM's 30th anniversary with the historic landmark of the review of the International System of Units (SI), which will enter into force on 20 May, World Metrology Day.

Metrology can resolve some of the problems facing society, such as those related to energetic sustainability, the second quantum revolution, the 4.0 Industry, environmental protection or the improvement of health. In fact, overcoming these challenges requires the development of new technologies and procedures that have metrological traceability and are universally recognised.

The event will be attended by representatives from the principal companies and institutions that require Metrology and prominent figures from the world of research and from the company at international level will participate as speakers.
