The International Organization for Standardization (ISO), whose Spanish member is the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has published its most recent annual survey of certifications accredited as per the ISO's international standards on management systems.
The report ISO Survey of Certifications, a global reference in this field, complied data from 175 countries at the close of 2019. The survey includes the accredited certification figures of the 12 most widely-used ISO management system standards in the world, such as ISO 9001 on Quality, ISO 14001 on Environmental management systems and ISO 45001 on Occupational Health and Safety, among others.
The data reveals that Spain is among the top ten countries in the world in the classification of the most widely-applied standards. Organisations see the use of these standards as an effective tool to improve their competitiveness, which helps to generate confidence. In fact, in 2019 there was a global increase of 3.8% compared to 2018.
The ISO Survey counts the number of certificates in accordance with ISO standards issued by certification bodies that have been accredited by members of the International Accreditation Forum (IAF).
