Collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has signed a collaboration agreement with the Ministry of Consumer Affairs with the aim of promoting the development of standardization actions in the realm of online gambling.

The agreement, subscribed through the Spanish Gambling Authority (DGOJ), aims to establish the bases for a collaboration that improves the functioning of the Spanish online gambling sector. To this effect, a technical standardization committee within the scope of gambling will be created in UNE.

This technical body will be responsible for monitoring, commenting, certifying expert participants and the Spanish vote at meetings held by the European Committee for Standardization CEN/TC 456 Reporting in support of online gambling supervision; specifically, on the draft Standard Online gambling. Reporting in support of supervision.

The new technical body will also be responsible for translating the European standard on online gambling into Spanish for purposes of incorporating it into UNE's catalogue of standards.

UNE develops collaboration agreements with the Public Administrations with the aim of supporting them in the efficient deployment of public policies and regulations through technical standards. UNE is a successful model of public-private collaboration.
