The Board of the Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, welcomed Carola Hermoso, the new Director General of the Spanish Steel Companies Association (UNESID), at its meeting held on 26 February.
Coinciding with the meeting, Carola Hermoso met with Alfredo Berges, Chair of UNE, and Javier García, Director General of UNE and Vice-President of ISO, to continue fostering the joint work of both organisations.
UNESID is a founding member of UNE, forms part of its Board and together with Calidad Siderúrgica leads the development of UNE standards that provide an effective response to the major challenges of its members in areas such as sustainability, the circular economy and decarbonisation of industry.
Carola Hermoso has a degree in Marine Sciences from the University of Cadiz and a Master's in Port and Coastal Engineering from CEDEX. She has over 20 years of experience in industrial sectors.
