The Madrid Safety and Emergencies Agency 112 (ASEM-112), the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, and the Continuam Institute of Business Continuity today organised the Sustainable Organisational and Social Resilience 3.0 Workshop at the headquarters of AEM-112. The workshop discussed the importance of SSOR 3.0 sustainable social and organisational resilience schemes and technical norms or standards for safety and resilience as allies for security and resilience management and the operational and management level.
At the event, several success stories in these areas were presented. Carlos Novillo, Deputy Minister of Interior and Director of the Madrid Safety and Emergencies Agency 112, explained the case of ASEM-112. In this regard, it should be noted that 112 celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2023.
Ernesto Peñafiel, head of Civil Protection and Property Security of the Tres Cantos Town Council, then presented the success story of Emergencias Tres Cantos.
Meanwhile, Pedro Pablo López, president of Continuam Institute of Business Continuity, spoke on SSOR 3.0 Resilience – Ready to Respond.
Paloma García, Director of Standardisation Programmes and Stakeholders at UNE, highlighted the need for correct management of risks and promoting security and resilience in the current economic context, by implementing technical standards such as those set out in the UNE Committee on Risk Management, Safety and Resilience.
In addition, Rafael Moro, a member of the ASELF Board of Directors, spoke about the need for standardisation in operational emergency management, as well as referring to the UNE standard that establishes guidelines for the human aspects of business continuity in safety and resilience.
Furthermore, throughout this meeting, attendees were able to discuss and share the main doubts and conclusions of the workshop.
