21 March saw the first meeting relating to the UNETUR initiative, promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism (Inter-institutional Coordinating Committee for Tourism Standards and Hallmarks), with the aim of developing a comprehensive model for tourism quality and competitiveness in Spain.
SEGITTUR, the Institute for the Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE), also participates in UNETUR; the ITH (Hotel Technological Institute) and the Spanish Association for Standardisation (UNE).
The aim of this project is to consolidate Spain as a leader in high quality tourism, through standardisation and the application of diagnostics and good practice manuals, by developing an all-inclusive model of quality and competitiveness.
