The President of the Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, and the Managing Director of ANFALUM, Alfredo Berges, has been awarded the Medal of Honour of the Road, with a Special Mention, presented by the Spanish Road Association (AEC). The awards "Las Medallas de Honor de la Carretera" (The Medals of Honour of the Road) are a public recognition of everyone who, through their professional work, helps ensure that Spanish roads are safe and of high quality.
The event took place in the assembly hall of the School of Civil Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid. The event underscored Alfredo Berges's role as one of the leading experts in road lighting. He is also a major advocate for the modernization and sustainability of both products and their manufacturing processes.
The Spanish Road Association (AEC), UNE member, is a non-profit organization that has been working since its inception to advocate for and promote roads. Its main goal is to achieve a safer, higher quality and more capable road network. Standardization is a fundamental tool to achieve this, which is why, since 1993, AEC has been actively involved in coordinating working groups within UNE.
