- The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, reinforces its strategic and social value with a new identity based on dialogue and shared progress.
- UNE is an association with a collective purpose that meets the highest standards in social, environmental and transparency issues and in good corporate governance. Its mission is to contribute to the construction of a safer, more sustainable and competitive world.
Madrid, 24 November 2022 - The Spanish Association for Standardization (UNE) has presented its new value proposition "UNE. Shared Progress", which aims to unite collective efforts to help society overcome its major challenges through standards, in a world undergoing total economic, social and environmental transformation. This evolution of the UNE brand has materialised in a new identity inspired by the space of dialogue and collaboration that is made possible by standardisation and its role around the world.
In the words of Javier García, General Director of UNE, "The first UNE standard was created more than 80 years ago, and since then we have worked closely with public administrations, companies, the world of academic research and citizens to generate shared knowledge that drives sustainable social and economic progress. In this new stage, we seek to come closer to society, thinking about the long term, showcasing the benefits that standardisation brings not only to the Spanish business and industrial fabric and to our members, but also to citizens in their daily lives".
A purpose-built entity
UNE defines itself as "an organisation that seeks to benefit the global community with a mission to create standards that contribute to building a safer, more sustainable and competitive world". To do this, it provides neutral and inspiring spaces for collaboration in which to share knowledge in order to develop, through dialogue and consensus, standards that serve the interests of all society and that mobilise those who are resolutely committed to business excellence and social awareness.
New visual identity
As part of this evolution, the Spanish Association for Standardisation has created a more contemporary, relevant and global visual identity that reflects its new purpose and values. Its new colours and typographies, as well as the visual universe designed, breathe diversity and adaptation to a changing, flexible and technological environment.
One of the elements that sets the new logo apart is the graphic symbol of dialogue that makes up the U. As the backbone of the graphic expression, this "globe" makes the UNE brand synonymous with consensus and binding and dynamic dialogue.
More familiar communication
Communication, aligned with the UNE 2025 Strategy, will be one of the key tools in this new stage. It will focus on what UNE does and with whom.
UNE's objective is to reach a wider public, with simple, everyday language, showing how standards are a pillar for innovation, the internationalisation of companies, and the social and economic growth of our country.
One of the elements of this strategic communication is a new institutional video: "UNE. Shared Progress," which reflects the essence of standardisation: dialogue. It shows how UNE, throughout its history as a global organisation, has generated and shared knowledge through standards.
