• The document proposes strengthening the involvement of senior management and more emphasis is placed on the context of the organisation and risk management. The ISO 45001 is based on widely recognised references, such as OHSAS 18001 and it includes most of its requirements.

• It will become the first International Standard for Occupational Health and Safety as it is expected to be published in late 2017 or 2018.
