The Workshop on Slip Resistance Assessment for Pedestrian Flooring, held online on 16 October, was organised by the SLIPRESISTANCE project, an European research initiative led by UNE focused on developing a standardised test method for assessing slip resistance in pedestrian flooring (Grant Agreement Nº101196460).
The event brought together around one hundred participants, including technicians, manufacturers, testing laboratories, standardization experts and representatives from European regulatory bodies.
During the session, representatives from the European Commission explained the new Construction Products Regulation (CPR) approach and the Commission's initiative for a harmonised slip resistance assessment method for pedestrian surfaces.
Experts from CSIC, the project's technical coordinator, presented the work developed so far and shared the first conclusions of the research.
The workshop fostered a fruitful exchange of views on current regulatory needs, technical challenges, and the future harmonisation of slip resistance assessment under the CPR. The insights and conclusions gathered during the discussions will be considered in the next phases of the project.
