On 31 October, the Spanish Association for Standardization held the UNE Meeting: “New standard for the preparation of an ordinance or regulation on discharges to the sanitation system", during which it presented the Standard UNE 149401 Guidelines for the preparation of an ordinance or regulation on discharges to the sanitation system.
This Standard aims to help define the scope and motivations that this type of document may have. This document reflects the experience in drafting them, based on the study and analysis of existing ordinances and regulations, and also the professional application of the experts who helped prepare them; all of this with supervision of the legal aspects that a document like this requires.
The aim is to facilitate an understanding of the different aspects that must be taken into account when drafting a Discharges Ordinance or Regulation. When regulating discharges, the proper treatment of waste water is promoted, and the reuse of sludge and regenerated water is encouraged, in accordance with sustainability and circular economy policies.
The Meeting was attended by the following speakers: Carmen Hernández, from AGA-AEAS; Mª Eugenia Díaz, from SERCOBE; Fernando del Amo, from CTN-UNE 49 and Aqualia; Roberto Fernández, from NILSA; Francisco Escribano, from EPSAR; Miguel Ángel Doval, from EMASESA; Lucia de Moura, from Global Omnium; and Paloma García and Rafael Postigo, from UNE.
