The Spanish Association for Standardization hosted its online Seminar on 18 September: "International standards for laboratory design" in which it presented the activity of the International ISO Committee in Laboratory Design, ISO/TC 336.
This Committee develops standards that guarantee the correct usability and safety of laboratories, and considering energy efficiency and environmental aspects. The Committee has three active working groups that deal with the terms and definitions applicable to the design of laboratories, mobile laboratories and Smart laboratories.
The purpose of the Seminar was to determine the interest in supervising this international Committee in Spain. UNE, the Spanish member of the ISO, channels the influence and participation of Spanish organizations at the global forums where the standards that enable them to compete are created.
The participants were: Miguel Sánchez, of the Association of Test, Calibration and Analysis Entities (FELAB); and Paloma García and Aitor Aragón, from UNE.
