On 7 May, the Spanish Association for Standardization will hold the UNE Meeting "Toward Smart Logistics: Innovation and Standards", in which it presented the standardization initiative on Innovative Logistics, led by China at the international level within the framework of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
It is a long-term project that spans the entire logistics chain, from cross-border warehouses to lockers, with a particular impact on warehouse and distribution centre operations, environmental guidelines, loading and unloading, warranties, as well as innovative management techniques and systems.
In addition, new standardization proposals were presented that specifically address courier and express services, added to the already established topic of retail.
During the session, the role of standardization in improving interoperability and resilience was discussed with the audience, focusing on how standards contribute to coordination, flexibility and sustainability.
The session also outlined the key steps for participating in national Technical Standardization Committees and have a direct influence on the development of international standards that will shape future logistics activities.
The guest speakers at the Meeting were: Paloma García, Director of Standardization Programmes and Stakeholder Engagement at UNE; Lucas Pulido, Project Manager Service Sector at UNE; Elena Ordozgoiti, Head of Services Sector Business at UNE; Jaime Luezas, Head of the Port Community Services Division; Rafael Aguilera, Managing Director at UNO Logística; Ramón García, Managing Director of the Centro Español de Logística; and Nuria Lacaci, Secretary General of the Asociación de Cargadores de España.
