The Spanish Association for Standardisation, UNE, held the Seminar on “Educational Anti-harassment management systems" on Tuesday, 11 March at its headquarters, in which it presented the initiative to develop a standard of anti-bullying management systems in educational centres and assessed national interest therein. During the session, the experts agreed on the need to address this standardisation initiative.
The reform of the Penal Code that came into force in October 2022 and the imminent entry into force of Organic Act 1/2025 of 2 January on measures related to the efficiency of the Public Justice Service represents a paradigm shift in the nature and handling of the responsibility of educational institutions regarding school bullying.
This proposal seeks to promote a specific standard of management systems that can help educational centres meet the requirements required by the Penal Code for exemption of responsibility.
The Conference was attended by:
Iván Moya, Head of Sector Transformation at UNE;
His Honour Mr Vicente Magro, Judge of Chamber II of the Supreme Court;
Carlos Gómez-Jara, professor of Criminal Law and lawyer; and Marta Fernández, Head of Ethics, Governance and Compliance at UNE.
