28/10/2025

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, held the UNE Meeting at its headquarters on 13 October: ‘Normalising urban mobility for the future’, a space for dialogue and collaboration with CTN-UNE 219, dedicated to light vehicles for sustainable micro-mobility.

During the meeting, the new name and scope of activity of CTN-UNE 219 were presented, with the aim of broadening its reach and adapting it to the profound changes that the micro-mobility sector is undergoing. In addition, the technical aspects of the new UNE-EN 17860 series of standards for cargo bikes were presented, and the progress made by European technical committees in revising standards EN 17128 (light personal vehicles) and EN 15194 (EPAC) was analysed, with Spanish entities actively participating and setting international benchmarks.

The meeting was attended by Paloma García, Director of Standardisation Programmes and Stakeholder Groups at UNE; Gorka Pradas, Chief Executive Officer of CLIME, Innovation Cluster for Electric Micromobility; Luis Alberto Peñaloza, UNE project manager and secretary of CTN-UNE 219; Sergio González, CEO of Mothium and Spanish expert in CEN/TC 333;, and Armando Hernández, member of CTN-UNE 219 and Spanish expert in CEN/TC 354/WG 4.

At CTN-UNE 219, we continue to work to ensure that Spanish companies contribute to European regulations and to guarantee robust and reliable standards that drive growth in the sector.
