20/10/2025

On 3 October, the Spanish Association for Standardization held the UNE Meeting ‘New developments in the ISO/DIS 9001 standard - Quality management systems’, at which the DIS draft was analysed and the most notable changes were discussed with UNE-accredited experts.

The meeting was opened by Tania Marcos, secretary of the UNE Committee on Quality Management and Conformity Assessment (CTN-UNE 66), who discussed the progress in the revision of the standard and the role of UNE in this process.

Next, Pedro Pablo Morillas, president of the UNE Subcommittee on Management Systems (CTN-UNE 66/SC 1), presented the main changes and new features of the draft ISO/DIS 9001, followed by a discussion with Spanish experts accredited by UNE in ISO/TC 176/SC 2/WG 29, Maria del Pilar Garcia (Acciona) and Pedro Pablo Morillas himself (Canal Isabel II).

The "Quality Management and Conformity Assessment" CTN-UNE 66 Committee will establish Spain's position, which UNE will transmit.

ISO 9000 and ISO/TS 9002 are also under review. Companies committed to quality are encouraged to apply to become members. To do so, write here:informacion.une@une.org.
