The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, has organized the Seminar "Standards for the Digital Spain 2025 Agenda" in collaboration with the Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation. At the event, the experts highlighted the importance of standards to promote the digital transformation of Spanish society and the productive fabric within the framework of the Digital Spain 2025 Agenda.
Salvador Estevan, general director of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, presented the Digital Spain 2025 Agenda. During the event, topics such as digital identification, blockchain and distributed registration technologies, IT governance, the IoT and digital twins, and AI and Big Data were discussed. For instance, in the emerging blockchain systems, standards can help guide companies tackling this new challenge, which promises, among other things, to create automatic resolution agreements.
As part of its task to support the national effort to comply with the digitization targets, the UNE has prepared the report "Support from Standardization to the Digital Transformation", which sets out the existence of over 50 technical standardization committees that support the digitization of the national economy in many key areas, such as telecommunications and cybersecurity, where they support the search for more resilient systems, or car connectivity, where they can help create compatible ecosystems, among others.
During the Seminar, the importance of public-private collaboration was highlighted and the fact that dialogue is key to advancing on the path towards an orderly and efficient transformation of the country. Experts from economic sectors such as construction, health and the food sector also presented their experiences.
The event was attended by Salvador Estevan, general director of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation; experts from the technical standardization committees in digital transformation César Pérez-Chirinos, chairman of the CTN 71/SC 307 Blockchain and Distributed Registration Technologies; Raúl Sánchez, secretary of the CTN 71/SC 17-37 Digital Identification; Javier Peris, chairman of the CTN 71/SC 40 - IT Service Management and Governance; Juan Carlos López, chairman of the CTN 71/SC 41 IoT and Digital Twins and Jaime Martel Romero-Valdespino, chairman of the CTN 71/SC 42 Artificial Intelligence and Big Data.
