The Spanish quality infrastructure website aims to highlight the importance of having a strong quality infrastructure (QI), and is fundamental for the development of countries by favouring economic progress and social well-being.
This website is the result of the collaboration protocol signed in 2023 between Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, the Spanish Metrology Center (CEM), and the National Accreditation Body (ENAC), in the presence of the Ministry of Industry and Tourism. These three institutions are the three pillars supporting this infrastructure.
The joint work of UNE, CEM and ENAC in standardisation, metrology and accreditation will boost the competitiveness of Spanish production in addition to providing security and confidence in products and services.
In addition, the conformity assessment entities (tests, inspections, control laboratories, certification, validation and verification, among others) have a fundamental role in the QI, all of which are supervised by the Ministry of Industry and Tourism.
