UNE and the Uzbek Technical Regulation Agency sign an international cooperation agreement.

25/09/2025

The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE and the Uzbek Technical Regulation Agency, affiliated with the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, have signed a collaboration agreement during their meeting at the IEC General Meeting 2025 organized by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), held in Delhi.

The agreement is primarily aimed at identifying areas of interest for both parties in which to share their expertise and good practices, as well as success stories, to help develop and strengthen key sectors for both countries through standardization. The agreement was signed by Javier García, Director General of UNE, and Dr Akmov Jumanazarov, Director of the Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, affiliated with the Cabinet of Ministers.

With this agreement, UNE takes a further step forward in its international role and in that of Spanish standardization. This marks progress towards one of the first objectives of the UNE’s 2030 Strategy: to promote international and European leadership of Spanish standardization. It is essential to position Spanish standardization as an agent that not only translates international standards, but also promotes them and acts as a driving force in the development of standardization at the European and international level.
