The Spanish Association for Standardization, UNE, strengthens the influence of Spanish standardization at the international level with two appointments to the International Organization for Standardization, ISO.

Natalia Ortiz de Zárate, international relations at UNE, has been elected to the ISO Technical Management Board (ISO/TMB). In this role, she will help ensure the effective operation of technical committees and that the standards developed are aligned with the principles of ISO’s strategy.

Meanwhile, Pablo Corrons, Director of Intellectual Property and Distribution Standards at UNE, has been appointed as a member of the ISO Commercial Policy Advisory Group (ISO/CPAG). His work will focus on promoting commercial strategies that drive technological solutions tailored to the needs of standards’ end users.

These appointments reinforce UNE’s role in defending the interests of Spanish economic sectors in international standardization, advancing the goals set out in its 2030 Strategy.

At the same time, they recognize UNE’s work as a key agent in developing standards at both national and international levels, enhancing innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability in industry and economic development.

The new positions held by Natalia Ortiz and Pablo Corrons facilitate the global dissemination of initiatives where Spain leads pioneering and innovative developments. Furthermore, this represents another step forward in promoting high-value digital solutions to support the effective implementation of standards.
